Flesh-eating flies strike pets

Flesh-eating parasites have attacked more than 10 pet dogs in the New
Territories this month - the first known outbreak in Hong Kong of the
parasite, which can also strike people.
More than 10 cases have been identified by veterinarians in Tai Po and the
northwestern New Territories in pet dogs and at least one cat. Two vets
who treated the animals said it was almost certain the larvae were of
screw worm flies.
