VIRGIN OF GUADALUPE TRAVELS 23,000 KILOMETERS "ON FOOT" IN AMERICAS
BUENOS AIRES, AUGUST 30 (ZENIT.org).- An image of Our Lady of Guadalupe
arrived in the city of Cordoba, Argentina on August 24. The image, which
began a pilgrimage throughout the continent in 1992, will conclude its
itinerary on December 12 in the Basilica of Lujan, in the province of
Buenos Aires. The Patroness of the Americas will occupy a place of honor
during the massive celebration of the Argentine National Eucharistic
Congress, which will take place from September 8-10.
After travelling 23,000 kilometers on foot, to 19 countries of America
and the length of the Argentinean territory, the Virgin arrived in
Cordoba with the Crucified Black Christ, a replica of the Lord of
Esquipulas, which is adored in Guatemala.
